As in any test, there are always these extra insights and "secrets" that help us gather a feeling of confidence towards test day. Whenever we hear of a new rule or statement for the quantitative section e.g. "the divisibility rule of consecutive numbers", or "the relation between variance and standart deviation", we rush to see if its worth memorizing it. Same is true for the other sections, be it sentence correctiion or critical reasoning.

At times, these tips and tricks function as stress relief medication, more than they actually increase our success chances. This way or another, they are important. Therefore we have gathered some of our tutors' and content devlopers to hand out their useful notions and insights for the GMAT.

General test tips

Create a study plan

According to the time frame you have, a study plan will put you in motion and will help you reach set goals.

Simulate the real thing  - a lot!

Make sure to take 30-40 fully simulated sessions of the test before D day. Practicing continuous sessions as in test day builds your stamina, concentration and are the best score increasers.

Make wise guesses

Eliminate destractors to raise your chances of hitting a tough question.
Particularly in the quantitative section you will reach a point in which a question will be too complex. This is part of the test's blue print. You have to make wise guesses at tough questions using elimination techniques.

Manage your time during the test

Your work rate is very important. After getting to know yourself in a real test environment, you will have to find that delicate balance between decreasing your time per question and not rushing into answering questions without checking your calculations.
