What are the LSAT studying requirements?


  1. You need to register for the exam in advance. You want to give yourself enough time to get studying and as much prep in as possible. Therefore, carefully think about when you will want to register for the test.
  2. You want to construct an organized study schedule. You want to manage your time wisely and setup a daily study plan best fit to your studying needs. In order to do well on the LSAT exam it is imperative to have the right study materials and ample amount of time to study for the exam. The half day standardized exam covers a lot of information and you want to make sure you have enough time to cover all of it.
  3. You will need to have access to LSAT prep materials. These prep materials include practice test, practice questions and reading samples. It’s important to take an actual practice exam to get an idea of what exactly you are getting into. This will give you an understanding to where you stand with scoring and how much practice you need to get done.
What do I need to apply for law school?

There are a few prerequisites that need to be dealt with before the application process. The actual application can be found on the LSAC website. Common to other application it asks all the typical questions including academic, biographical and extracurricular activities. You can fill out the application directly on the LSAC website.

  • Undergraduate GPA
  • Admission essay – (The personal statement, a required essay written by the applicant to be uploaded to the LSAC website)

All of these are important and essential to the admission process of law school. However, some are of greater weight than others. Specifically, law schools focus on your LSAT score and undergraduate GPA. All American Bar Association law schools require applicants to take the LSAT as part of their admission process. LSAT scores range from 120 to 180, with the average score being 150. Top law schools consider as eligible students whose score is between 165 and 180.
