The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) is geared towards both full-time and part-time students. The focus of CCRI is on vocational-technical areas, as well as academics. Whether you intend to complete your education at a four-year university or take your Certification or Associate Degree and head directly into employment, the aim of CCRI is to provide a solid foundation for your future.
As is the norm at thousands of colleges and universities, the academic process at CCRI begins with a mandatory ACCUPLACER Test. This comprehensive test will impact your course load for the entirety of your college career. To help you fully prepare for the CCRI placement test, TestPrep-Online has created a series of all-inclusive study packs for ACCUPLACER, featuring detailed guides and full-length practice tests. Taking the time and effort to prepare well for the CCRI ACCUPLACER Test will place you at an appropriate course level as an incoming student.
CCRI tuition varies depending on whether the applicant is in-state, regional, or out-of-state. For in-state students studying full-time, the price is $1,975 per semester, for regional students, the price is $2,963, while for out-of-state the price is $5,590.
CCRI offers financial aid in several forms, including the federal college work-study program, and the Rhode Island Supplemental Grant. The college also provides over 70 scholarships.
The ACCUPLACER test plays a big role in determining just how much you will need to spend towards obtaining your degree. A strong ACCUPLACER score can reduce your college expenses by a significant amount. To help you prepare, TestPrep-Online offers a variety of ACCUPLACER Practice Packs, all of which include practice tests, sample questions, study guides, and detailed explanations.

A new student applying to CCRI is required to fill out a standard application form, either online or by mail. The form includes a personal section, a high school history section, and a college history section.
Once accepted to the college, students are then required to take the CCRI ACCUPLACER Test. This is to help the college in placing the prospective student in the correct learning group. Achieving a high score on the ACCUPLACER can mean bypassing any prerequisites and not having to add unnecessary semesters to your college career. By correctly preparing for the test, you can save valuable time and money.

The CCRI ACCUPLACER is a computer-generated, multiple-choice test that is untimed. The assessment usually takes between 2.5 and 3 hours to complete. The essay section, however, is timed, and you are given 45 minutes to complete this task.
To take the test, you need to schedule an appointment by contacting the Advising and Counseling Office at Warwick Campus, Lincoln Campus, Providence Campus, or Newport County Campus.
The ACCUPLACER test highlights three primary educational aptitudes: reading, writing, and math, and is comprised of six sections measuring these skills:

The purpose of this placement test is to assess your skills level in reading, writing, and math. Your test results will determine whether or not you are required to take costly remedial classes prior to commencing with academic credits for college-level courses. Almost all intermediate CCRI courses require some form of prerequisite or placement testing.
The ACCUPLACER is a mandatory placement tool used to determine the CCRI courses you'll be permitted to enroll in during your first semester of college. High scores will place you on a better standing than some of your freshman peers. By placing out of remedial classes and/or the usual freshman courses, you will save considerable education costs and time, and be able to achieve your degree or certificate requirements earlier.
Specific study tools have been known to contribute to an increase in scores on placement tests.
