How Is My ACCUPLACER Score Used?
If you are taking the ACCUPLACER test for placement purposes, your ACCUPLACER score is given to your guidance counselor to assist in placing you in the appropriate college course level. If you are taking the ACCUPLACER for admissions purposes, your ACCUPLACER result is taken into consideration by the admissions office when they review your application.
When Will I Receive My ACCUPLACER Score?
The ACCUPLACER is a computerized test. Therefore, you will receive your results immediately after finishing the assessment.
What Will My ACCUPLACER Results Look Like?
Once you have finished the exam, you will receive a score report that displays the numerical score from each section. Depending on the college, some counselors give printed score reports in addition to the on-screen report you receive at the end of the test.
What Is a Score Report?
The Score Report details each section in which you were tested and provides you with a numerical grade (on a scale from 20 - 120). The essay portion of the test is given a grade value from 0 to 8. You also receive feedback on six important aspects of the WritePlacer Essay assessment: purpose and focus, organization and structure, development and support, sentence variety and style, mechanical conventions, and critical thinking.
What Score Do I Need in Order to Take College-Level Courses?
Each college has its own score requirements. Therefore, your guidance counselor will be able to tell you which courses you may or may not be able to take based on your ACCUPLACER scores.
