The correct answer is a

All the circles below exhibit the same numerical relationship – they share the following pattern: (top-left) - (top-right) = 6; (bottom-left) - (bottom-right) = 2;
e.g. top left circle: 3 – (-3) = 6; top right circle: 8 – 2 = 6; bottom left circle: 1 – (-1) = 2; bottom middle circle: 2 – 0 = 2.

Wrong

Correct!

Wrong

Wrong

Wrong

View Explanation

The correct answer is b.   1/6.

To determine which number represents the smallest amount, let's compare all the given numbers:

0.2
1/6 (which is approximately 0.1667)
0.22
1/5 (which is exactly 0.2)
0.6

Let's order these from smallest to largest:
1/6 (≈0.1667) < 0.2 = 1/5 (0.2) < 0.22 < 0.6
Therefore, the smallest amount is represented by 1/6 (option 2).

Pamper is the opposite of...

Correct!

Wrong

Wrong

Wrong

View Explanation

The correct answer is a. neglect.

Explanation:

"Pamper" means to treat with excessive care, attention, or indulgence. It implies lavishing someone with comfort, luxuries, or special treatment. Let's examine each option:

  1. neglect - This means to fail to care for properly; to ignore or disregard. It's the opposite of pampering, as it involves a lack of attention or care.
  2. please - This means to make someone feel happy or satisfied. It's not the opposite of pamper; in fact, pampering often pleases the recipient.
  3. spoil - This is similar to pamper, often meaning to treat with excessive kindness or indulgence.
  4. indulge - This means to allow oneself to enjoy the pleasure of something, which is very close in meaning to pamper.
  5. gratify - This means to give pleasure or satisfaction to someone, which is also similar to the effect of pampering.

Among these options, only "neglect" represents the opposite of "pamper." While pampering involves giving excessive care and attention, neglecting involves giving no care or attention at all. The other options are either synonymous with or related to the concept of pampering, rather than being opposites.

Genuine        Ingenious

Logic Questions

Only around 5 to 15% of questions in this test will include logical reasoning. Most of these will present two sentences and a conclusion, then you will have to determine if this conclusion is correct.

Wonderlic SLE Question 11

If the first two statements are true, is the final statement true?

Bob is taller than Rob
Job is shorter than Bob
Job is the shortest among the three.

Wrong

Wrong

Correct!

View Explanation

We know that Bob is taller than Rob, i.e.     Bob > Rob

We also know that Job is shorter than Bob, i.e. Job < Bob.
If we switch directions, we can see that Bob > Job.

We can deduce from this that Bob is the tallest among the three, but we do not have enough information to determine who is shorter - Rob, or Job.

Therefore, the correct answer is "Uncertain".

General Knowledge

Another small minority of the questions will examine your general knowledge. Usually, only 1 or 2 of the questions of the tests will be from this category. They will typically deal with information about the months of the year and general abbreviations

About the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam

The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam is the leading admission test for career colleges across the United States. The exam is, in essence, a cognitive abilities test, which determines a person’s problem-solving skills and abilities to learn, understand, and follow instructions.

There are two versions of the test:

  • Wonderlic SLE — This is a longer version of the test, it includes a wider range of questions that assess various cognitive skills. It's typically used in a school or entrance exam setting.
  • Wonderlic SLE-Q or Quickest — This is a shorter and faster test version. It provides a quicker measure of cognitive processing speed and learning ability. This version is used in a more rapid context with time constraints.

Fully understanding the exam and properly preparing for it can benefit the student in two ways: Not only do Wonderlic SLE test scores determine whether they qualify for the program to which they want to apply, the scores have also been positively correlated to later academic performance within that program.

Wonderlic SLE and Nursing Admissions

Some nursing programs use the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam as an admissions tool and screening for readiness. An average score typically falls around 20, with scores above 25 suggesting above-average ability to handle academic demands, while lower scores may indicate potential struggles in fast-paced educational settings.

Tips for Prepping for the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam

  • Map out your studying process. After having completed our free Wonderlic SLE questions, take a moment to reflect upon what you struggled with the most and what you had no problem with. This will give you a chance to better prioritize what topics need more time to cover and which topics need less time.
  • Save the challenging material for the morning. Many studies have shown that we are most alert during the morning hours. Make sure to study the material that is most challenging for you before the afternoon slump settles in.
  • Take regular breaks. Allow your brain to recuperate after every study session. By allowing yourself to recharge, you are giving yourself the opportunity to tackle the next task with just as much zest and motivation as the former.
  • Keep your brain properly fueled. Nutrition plays a vital role in making sure your brain has both the energy and the capacity to process new information. While studying, make sure to have foods such as fruits, nuts, and lean proteins at your side. Avoid sugary treats, as these energy highs are known to pass quickly and will not promote maintainable brain power.
  • Stay active. Believe it or not, your body plays a vital role in information-processing. Make sure to get enough exercise and fresh air during your studying process. Even if it’s just a walk around the block, adding some movement to your day can leave you focused and at ease in the long run (pun intended).
  • Designate a studying spot. Choose a spot that’s comfortable enough to study in and designate this as your main studying location. We recommend a clean desk with an accessible source of fresh air (perhaps a window), and, of course, as little clutter as possible.
  • Move around. Although having a constant studying spot at hand is a good way to kick your brain into gear, it is still worthwhile to change your studying spot every once in a while. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what your brain needs to process a particularly difficult topic. Treat yourself to studying sessions at a café, or maybe even at the library with other peers who are studying for the exam.
  • Practice with practice tests. Getting used to the material covered on the test is not the only trick to acing it. It is also important to understand both the format of the questions on the test as well as how the questions will be phrased. By practicing with actual Wonderlic SLE practice tests, you are allowing yourself to become accustomed to the test’s style, content, and time-constraint.
